A prayer
Thank you Lord for this brand new day.
Give me the wisdom to see its possibilities,
the strength to face its challenges,
and the grace to be open to its promise.
Give me your heart of love to do a favour,
speak a kindness, offer a hand, soothe a hurt,
celebrate a joy, share a sorrow,
or in some small way give myself in love
to another in your name.
A Blessing
May the God of peace,
Who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus,
that great Shepherd of the sheep,
through the blood of the eternal covenant,
make us perfect in every good work to do His will,
working in us that which is well-pleasing in His sight,
through Jesus Christ, to Whom be glory for ever. Amen

The prayer of St Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace,
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled,
as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
